Installing your own window tint.

Installing your own window tint.
Just wondering what are peoples opinions on installing your own window tint. I have a S197 with no upper door frame and the window drops down a little when I open the door, will this be an issue?

Got my windows professionally tinted and it costed $280 Canadian. Legal 15% on all windows and rear.
Check your rear window along the top edge for dot matrix, if you have it you may need a heat gun to get the tint to stick to itso itwont be 1 massive air bubble. If you have dot matrix, tint the rear window normally and wait for the tint to settle for about 2-3 months minimum before carefully heating it.
If your doing it yourself have buckets of soapy water to spare, along with 10-20 dry rags. Make sure windows are up and peal back the rubber seal on the inner side of the widows so you dont get a white line along the bottoms of the windows.
Wait for a sunny day to do the tint, start in the morning if you can so when you finish the sunn will help the curing stage go faster. Do NOT roll down your windows for minimum of 3 days, most companies recommend 5 days or the warranty is void. Good luck and post pics if you do it.

Tinting glass yourselfcan be a royalpain in the @ss [:'(]you've got to be very CLEAN working on it or you'll get lint & stuff stuck between the glass & the tint. Remember too that thewindow tint material DOES NOT STRETCHso if the glass has a compound curve then you'll have to do it using many individual pieces. If you don't know that glass has a compound curve (most do) put a straight edge like a ruler on the glass. If the ruler sits FLAT on it then it's easier to tint
