BEST SUPERCHARGER?
man that is solely up to you and what your application is if it just for racing then get one that can make a lot of boost if it is one for the street then get one that makes from 8 to about 14 psi maybe even 16 and run an intercooler you'll get the most hp w/ one...but vortech makes a pretty damn good supercharger why don't you check them out!!
I got a 14lbs procharger and love it but its really noisy. When I was looking at SC I got what i think was good advice. GO BIG. If you get a 6-9 lb now one day you will want a bigger one. Better to spend alittle more now and be happy later. Just make sure you set it up right (fuel pump injs ect).
Prochargers definatly kick ***. Ive heard a few on here say they have some kind of problem with seals blowing. That was a problem they had when they first started and its been fixed for years now. The only thing I dont like about the Procharger is that its self contained. A consistantly fresh oil supply from the pan like what you would get with a Vortech sounds more appealing. Besides that ATI has the best warranty and prolly the strongest superchargers on the market. Vortech on the other hand is tried and true, they have been the innovator and leader in centrifugal superchargers ever sense they started and, that says somthing in itself. I would go with vortech but, contact all the supercharger companies in which you are interested and request more information. They will gladly send you brochures that will answer many of you questions.
why does tapping the oil pan and running 2 more oil lines under the hood look more appealing than a self contained unit? Pro chargers are superior to vortech, the impellers are billet machined too, not cast. if i were to buy a centrifugal supercharger it would be an intercooled procharger.
but i prefer Kenne bell twin screw, its the ultimate street supercharger.
