Default Importing to the US, an exported Mustang.

Ok, i knwo it sounds weird
But im here in japan for the next few years still, and they are almost dirt cheap when they get over 60k miles.

Basically, i want to get a Mustang with an E-XXXXXXX VIN number, but i need to know what i have to do to get it back to the US.

i hear its a PITA, i hear its easy, anyone know for sure?

not that easy you can get it shipped over. but there is some changes needed to make it u.s legal. like windsheild is not coated with a plastic so when some thing hits it glass will go every where. and i dont belive it comes with the proper side beams to protect against side impacts. and more.

yea i had this problem when i tried to import my friends skyline r32. once it finally gets here, its most likely not street legal, which means you gotta change some things and register it as a kitcar so its easyer to register. more of a hassle then anything
