I can't believe these increases. It went up 18 cents/gallon the other day. Literally, on the way home from work I almost passed out when I drove by the station that was at like 3.60 in the morning, now at 3.78. Unbelievable!

Although it appears that this is on the higher side of prices around here, here's what I saw this morning at a BP near me...

87: 3.69
89: 3.79
93: 3.89

...and at a gas station near Detroit Metro Airport the prices were as follows...

87: 3.89
89: 3.99
93: 4.09

...I predict average gas prices will get to around $4.50/gal before they go back down, and when they go back down I HIGHLY doubt we will ever see it under $3.00/gal ever again.

Your not gonna see the prices go back down. Your gonna see then hit 5 bucks in the summer and it's gonna hold there for a while. If you goes down it will maybe drop 50 cents, than go back up.

This is ridiculous, gas is not worth $4 a gallon. At most, is should be $1.25 / gallon.

It's not what it's worth, it's whatever they can get away with charging.

i agree with everyone on being easy on the skinny pedal. I don't see a gear change as being economical. It may help slightly, but to recoup that money would take ages.
