Default Getting murdered by gas prices?

I have been wondering for awhile why my GTs been going through gas so fast. I never really cared to look at prices until the other day when i realized that i cant even get 2 gal for 7 bucks anymore.. so depressing. Its worse that i heard rumors of gas hitting 4bucks this summer. Who else is getting killed by these prices?

I have a 00' GT running full exhaust, intake, chip with a performance clutch. Any suggestions on gears/rpm's i should be at to conserve a bit. Im going to lower my SCT chip soon, but any suggestions for me and others would be great.

seems like the days of going around town cruising are over.

I have a 3.8 with just an exhaust setup right now. I like to shift at 2000 rpms to save gas. It works well. I can usually go for about a week on a tank of gas driving around all the time between school and work and girlfriend and wherever she wants to go. I put on 40 or more miles a day and can go for about a week on a tank shifting at 2000 rpms. Also shifting nice and easy.

put as little pressure on the gas as safely possible to accelerate.

conservative acceleration helps out a lot. i went from 12 mpg to 18mpg.

just remember....theres no need to rip through the gears every time. [8D]

+1 i went from 12.5 to 14.5 by accelerating slower. it helps a lot. i have an auto and i try not to let it go over 2000 rpm when accelerating.

Make sure your tires are FULLY inflated. Even a couple PSI low can have a big hit on fuel economy. And tune it up! New plugs & clean air filter FTW

plugs, filters, etc...

make sure correct tire pressure and it also helps to get your tires aligned as well.

keep it at 2k or less and dont try to hit 2k as fast as you can. im getting a bike hopefully in about a week and a half so gas prices wont be on my mind as much.

meh, it saves gas, but if you got a $15k compact instead, that gets 35mpg, you'd still have $10k for gas, or more if you got a cheaper car.

Our government wants to take our money back and slow our economy. They want you to pay higher taxes, earn less income, and have more job growth overseas. Just like alcohol and tobacco vrs. pot, all about the income for the govt.
