I had over 200k on my 84 GT when I sold it to get a truck, and it was still strong as ever. Only ever did oil and brakes and had to do 1 clutch in all that time. Car was SOLID!!! I drove it pretty normal, no taching up 5 grand and dropping the clutch, no drag strip duty, jsut my normal every day car with a little bit of hooliganism every now and again....but did maintenance religiously.
131k on my 93 5.0 lx. it had 27k in august of 2000 when i bought it. replaced the motor at 86k which was only a year ago this month. valve cover gaskets were leaking really bad, and seizedit.it sat for almost 2 years between 04 and 06when the radiator went, and i was playing in 2 bands, and didn't have time to fix it. i just used my 03 mach 1, and my 04 f350 i had at the time for daily drivers. after i put it back on the road my fuel pump and relay went, and it sat for 3 more months.my 03 mach has 68k on it now. only 4k on the new motor. i cracked the block because the stock block could not take the horsepower that was put on it.
Properly taken care of and maintenance kept up you can expect the car to outlast your interest in it. That said, I've got 52500 original miles on my '69.
