Default Mixing Motor Oils...

Alright, my dad jsut changed his oil in his car. As I was walker over I notice he is dumping oil into my truck and I'm like what are you doing ? He was putting some of the left over SYNTHETIC into my truck. My truck doesn't have syntehtic in it though...

It has the Ford Motor Co. oil...semi-synthetic or whatever. The stuff in the red bottle,

So, can him dumping some of his synthetic oil (which I think is mobil 1 ) with my trucks oil hurt anything? Now I'm going up to walmart to buy new oil to change it but I assume it's alright to run the truck to warm up before I change oil with the little bit of snythetic right ? My trucks got 237,000 miles on it and it still runs great. I don't want anything to happen to it so I'm kinda pissed he went mixing oil type brand and I think they're different weights as well... So what should I do. Just warm up the motor and change it as usual or what ? I'm off to pick up some oil but I'll check back before I change it.

Mixing different oil manufacturers in theory could cause conflicts with additive packages, but unlikely. But mixing different oil weights could cause issues if they try to seperate.

Alright I'm about to walk out the door to go to the store. Would warming up the motor be ok ? Or should I just drain it?

You'd prolly be fine to drive it to Wal-Mart or something, but it's your engine. It's hard to say though, newer engine oils are getting pissier by the day(thanks to government imposed regulation). If it were me, I'd take a different vehicle just in case. It would suck to have the oiling system hiccup and damage a bearing/crank/cam etc.

Alright just got back from the store. I took my dads car to the store anyways but it's dark now. I'll just pull into the garage a little and do it...
