well i was thinking about getting a set of smoke headlights for my stang but im not sure if they are legal,these are the ones i was gonna get. i think they are legal but im not sure

they should be legal since dont some 99-04 come with stock smoked headlights..im not positive but im guessing they be legal..im also looking to get those lights or black housing..g/l on finding your answer..

they're legal, got some on in KY. but they kill the lighting at night

 

thanks. how bad does it kill the lighting. i do mostly city driving so i cant see loosing a little bit of light would effect me too much.

 

if i had to put a number on it i would have to say about 30%?if you do a lot of city driving it shouldn't matter much. you'll seethe lights behind it and the street lights will make up for the loss. but country driving isn't such a good idea at night...

 

yea i just installedmine a few days ago and visability is a lot lower but they look pretty good though mine are one piece

 

Depending on how LEOs are in the area, "impeding night time illumination" is a ticketable offense - smoked/tinted headlights and taillights fall into that.

 

Email or Call and ask if they're DOT approved, if they're not I wouldn't get them.
