Default Help Please..Ignition Key Won't turn

Fiancee's 2000 6 cylinder drop top won't start. She stopped at a coffee shop yesterday and when attempting to leave the key could be inserted in the ignition cylinder but would not turn. Steering wheel will turn (very hard) slightly to the left....I arrived and tried to operate both the steering wheel and the ignitionkey at the same times unsuccessfully.

The Steering Wheel is VERY hard to move.....I am wondering if she put something in a bind....would it be feisable to jack the front wheels off the ground and then try?

Please, is there a trick or have we an issue that would require towing?

We would like to go to where the car is a soon as I get some hopefully instructive feedback.....

Thanks a Lot,

Default RE: Help Please..Ignition Key Won't turn

Well we didn't get any replies on this forum. So for what ever it is worth, we just tried the same question on Google....came back with success stories of taking a rubber mallet and hitting the edge of the key 3 times on Dodge vehicles. Didn't have anything to loose so we just got back >>>>>> WITH THE CAR.....worked 1st time. I also sprayed a single shot of WD 40 in the cylinder or lock opening with the hope that it might eliminate the same from occuring at another date/time....hope this will help someone else in the future...
