Has anyone with the New Edge body style ever gotten the exhaust leak fixed? I guess it was a stock problem where the AC unit leaked on the exhaust and caused it to break and leak... I was wondering how the shop or whatever fixed it... Weld a plate on over the part it drips on? Just seal it up or what?

 

Where exactly is there the leak? If its a midpipe, you could just get an aftermarket one instead. I havent heard of this prob, maybe if you hjave no luck here, post this q in the (New edgeMustang Section)

Edit: My bad, I misread it

 

I to can hear the a/c condensation driping on the exhaust when i get out and shut the door you hear the sizzling from the drip. but I don't have a exhaust leak from it. I think its driping on the exhaust manifold or were the manifold bolts to the mid pipe. If it is dripping on exhaust manifold maybe an aftermarket header will help it.

btw....are you talking about an actual hole in the pipe?

 

I couldn't exactly pin point where it is, I hear it from the Passenger side... I've heard that this happens to a lot of New Edges and I've heard it on many stock ones as well so it's a defect from the factory.. I believe its just a crack or something from the exhaust getting hot and the water dripping on it and causing a break but I could be wrong...

 

ya on the pasenger side by the firewall is were the a/c condensor is and when that sweats it drops water on the exhaust manafold and the mid pipe.

 

So has anyone ever fixed this? Or do people just wait for the metal to expand and just let it go away? I want to know what I could tell the shop to do to fix it... Weld a plate on top of it? Around it?
