Default Hey I have a question

since it's not a mustang question I'm putting it here
I drive a 1993 ford f-150 and today when i got in it it started makeing a whisleing noise. i was like wtf this is new i looked at my gauges and my alternater gauge was going crazy. so i popped my hood and didn't hear it comeing from the motor so i got back in it and drove it to cracker barrel. when ever i pushed on the gas it would become louder and when i shifted gears it would go away then as the rpms started going up it would start again so i turned it off and back on and the gauge was fine and it didn't do it anymore. does anyone have any idea what the problem would be and if it's bad because i don't wanna go have it fixed because i'm going to give it to my dad in a few weeks.

could be the bearings in the alternator are going bad or maybe the drive belt was slipping badly.

I don't thank that it was the alternator because I opened the hood and everything sounded normal. I thank that it was comeing from the cab. I plan on selling the truck to my dad or someone else with in a week and a half, so how I've decided to look at it like it's not my problem. My dad is good with knowing whats wrong when something messes up and for anyone else it's their problem. Thanks for the advice tho.
