Default blower on an old '70 caramo

i saw a '70 camaro this past weekend, and the blower it had was coming out of the hood. it looked like three big O's. whats the difference, setup wise, between that kind of blower vs. a vortech or twin screw?

thats a roots blower... like the 03-04 cobras
Centrifiguel- builds power with rpms
Roots- instant power
or vise versa

Most of the older cars like you saw on the streets with blowers (at least around here) are alcohol cars.... if so, they're bad ****'s.
The car like you saw though, at idle the blowers are silent (kinda depends on if it has a huige cam, and if its alcohol), with flick of the throttle though, they whine---- So nice.

yeah, and the three big "O's" are the throttle body. if you noticed, if they revved it up, the little discs in it would turn and let air in.
