Hi guys, I'm having porblems with my transmission. I was driving and all went like usual. I parked the car and got in to eat and when I came back I couldn't put my transmission in drive (automatic). I check under the car and there was liquid. I checked and it was only water. But after pumping the brake a couple of time I was able to put it in drive(I couldn't press the button that makes the stick shift budge)l still havethatproblem. But when i'm in drive and I go reverse there's no problem there. It's only when I need to get the car running. The transmission looks good I have no problems with it when i'm driving. It's really when I want to stuck it out of park (P). Any have ideas??

Hi, Maybe its an Overdrive? A bad temp. sensor can do that. If the engine thinks the temp. is below 20 degrees it won't let the transmission go into overdrive. It's possibly a sticking solenoid but you aren't giving us enough info. Anything else we need to know (was the car ever in a flood)?

 

sounds a lot like a brake interlock gone bad. What year is this? Does it only stick in Park?
