1964 427 Cammer, 2x4bbl. 657hp stock

Either that or a Jaguar v12. The 90's jags were made by ford, so it would likely be easier on the compatibility.

If you are building a hot rod from scratch like literally 2 frame rails and a fibreglass body. That justifies an open game for swap. Swapping a popular V8 into say a RX7 makes sense because you can't make the power with a stock RX7 engine.

For a Mustang. Not worth the effort to place another manufacturer's engine in it. I mean why for more power? You can do it with a Ford.

I know this. I just thought it be interesting to see what people would say. Hence "if money and time and difficulty were not an option"/factor.

theres always one guy with no immagination. geesh. haha.
Okay, I'll play.

Mopar's Hemi from the 60's. My friend had a 10 second 440 Charger. High compression, big cam, ran on racing fuel etc. He grew tired of it and all the maintenance that came with it. Car was sold and he bought a 69 Plymouth Road Runner. No more drag racing, he wanted to go to cruise nights, take his kids for trips for ice cream and Sunday drives out in the country.
So he built the motor accordingly. Low compression 9.5 :1. Small camshaft, hydraulic. Single 4 barrel carb 750.

He then ran it on the dyno to break it in and make sure it had no problems. Can you imagine the look on everyone's face, including the people who worked there when this mild Hemi for a show car made 601hp and 575 lb/ft of torque.

The rest of us only imagine what a big cam and high compression would belt out.
