Default New mustang

Hi guys new member here. I'm in the market for a new car and wanted to get some input for all you mustang enthusiasts. I've narrowed my car choices 3. Mustang Gt, mazda rx-8, or mazdaspeed 6. I know that they are all in a league of their own. I really became inspired by the potential of a Mustang when I watched the Mustang Cobra win the Speed GT World Challenge at Long Beach. I was impressed to see the Mustang take corners so well compared to 911s. From my understanding, a stock mustang cannot beat a stock rx-8 around a normal curcuit. (eg. gran turismo 5 :P)Another thing too, im a big fan of top gear and saw the clip of the gt500 being reviewed and at the end of the clip they take it to the track and compare it to the roush mustang. They mention that the roush uses a different suspension than the gt500 but on their website they both have a suspension package you can buy that looks very similar.
So as of now im in a dilemma because there are pros and cons to each car. Tommorow ill be going to the dealers to test drive and see watI like and such.
If anyone can shed some light that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help.

rx-8 is a nice car but you have to rev it to the moon to get it to go anywhere.

mazdaspeed 6....eh. boosted 4 FTL.

what do you plan on doing with the car after its purchased?

Thanks for the reply back. I've decided to getthe mustang gtinstead of the other cars. I plan on starting off by improving the suspension of the car before i do any kind of engine modification. umm.....I dont plan on getting a new mustang because this will be my first real car. So what year would be the best in terms of reliablity and drivability. My closest dealership hasa certified red used mustang gt w/ 35k miles for around 20k. That seems like a good buy. BTW its also a 2005 model.

for me it'd be between the rx8 and the gt. i like the speed 6, but it's front wheel drive. Now between the rx8 and the gt, i would lean towards the gt for one main reason, fuel economy. the rx8 is only rated to get like 17 mpg. both cars are sweet in their own way, and are ot real comperable IMO. now if you wanted a world class handling car for that price range, i would also look at one other car. the nissan/infiniti 350z/g35 coupe, with the nismo track package. that car is a fantastic handler right out of the box.

They mention that the roush uses a different suspension than the gt500 but on their website they both have a suspension package you can buy that looks very similar.
Roush and GT500 use different suspensions under them - by component, not by set up. They are different in how they handle. Also, if it happend to be the older show - the GT500 they used wasn't what was sold to the public. It had stock brakes and a less than well tuned suspension - so it's not a perfect comparison of the two.
