Default catalytic convertor

I was told that when you were to put a exhaust system that if you broke the inside of the catalytic convertor it would sound even more mean. Does it really does that? did anyone ever did that? and is it worth it? does it work even with a stock system?

thanks

Its called gutting the cats. What you do is cut open one side of the cat and remove the material then button it back up. Honestly, its not worth the effort, just buy an offroad midpipe such as an O/R H or O/R X

as long as your in a state that dosent require emissions go ahead. how ever if you are then i wouldnt suggest it. ive seen people use jack handles or a pipe to just bash it out
