Default Electric Problems

I have a 65 Mustang that i'm redoing. I am working on the engine compartment first, and am done now. Before i started the car wouldnt start, put new starter, solenoid, battery on, still wouldnt start, jumped across the starter and everything, wouldnt turn. So my dad told me to take out the plugs and that worked, once it turned for little bit, put them back in, and fired it up. The i worked on the compartment, its sat for few months, i reran the electric wires out of the way to clean things up and remounted the starter solenoid. Now went to restart it and nothing gets power. The battery has power, the solenoid is grounded, so isnt the engine, so isnt the starter, and i jumped across the starter again without plugs and nothing, not even a click from the starter. The headlights, interior lights, nothing has power. Any ideas? Someone else said bad ground but i cant find any bad grounds. [:-]

Well, got a volt meter? You either have a dead batt., or a bad ground.

Default RE: Electric Problems

ya, and i tried that already. the batt is good at just over 12, and all the grounds that i changed up are reading about .2-.0 so i dont know what the deal is. i checked the grounds that ground behind the alternator which is the battery, alternator and something else, also the ground of the solenoid. theres not a ton of grounds on these old ones ya know. can you think of anywhere else that would do that? and why wouldnt the starter turn when i jump it?? its brand new and worked fine.
