I really need your help everyone.

AutoZone, when they tested my car, threw a diagnostic code of P1443 which I've been told indicates a solenoid/sensor problem, and another shop told me it indicates an IAC Valve. Now my Mustang is idling a touch low, so I was thinking maybe that was it. But this other shop put the old girl on THEIR meter and said it threw a code of P1448 which they told me indicates that I need to take some contact cleaner and clean out my EGR System.

So now I'm all confused, and this other shop regularly works on mustangs, seeing as how one of the certified mechanics is in the Mustang Club of Las Vegas as I am. I've also googled P1448 extensively, and I keep finding numerous sites that say P1448 is a Nissan code.

Can ANYONE help shed some light on this please, BEFORE I go spending money I don't need to spend?

Well, P1443 is "evaporative emmission control system-vacuum system, purge control solenoid or purge control valve malfunction" . I don't see a P1448 as far as Ford goes.

 

the one shop was right in that P1443 involves the IAC valve.

i dont see P1448.

 

Thank you guys, now I know I can go spend $60.00 on an IAC Valve and just throw the new one on the throttle body.
