clutch cable
i replaced my stock cable and quadrant with steeda parts along with a firewall adjuster about 2 years ago and the cable snapped on me the other day. the original lasted about 20 years compared to 2 on the steeda cable. so do i go with another steeda cable or just a stocker from the auto parts store?

RE: clutch cable
my steeda cable did the same thing after 9 months. i replaced it with a stock cable and its been all good.
btw..the stocker needs to be modified a little to work with the firewall adjuster.

RE: clutch cable
Do you have some killer base pressure on your clutch?
Where did it break.
If it's under the dash....
Check the cable to quadrant alignment.
Where it pokes out of the firewall. It needs to run straight to the quadrant and not on an angle.

RE: clutch cable
it broke right at the bend on the quadrant. i think it must have been stretching pretty bad because i had to adjust my firewall adjuster every 2 weeks. so it probably was under a good amount of pressure, but the car wouldnt go into gear unless i adjusted it that way.
