Has anyone scaled their back seats?

Has anyone scaled their back seats?
I'm interested in seeing what I can drop for weight on my GT.
I have plenty of plans for my 02 GT coming up this fall which involves a blower and a couple other mods. Anyways...
I will be putting in a cage, removing the back seats, removing spare tire and jack, basically it'll be a weekend toy for next summer.
Has anyone scaled their back seats & front seats? I'd like to know how crazy I'd have to go with weight reduction to get around a 3100-3200 race weight with my fatass in the car? I wouldn't have a problem giving up the power door locks at all, but I don't want to go through the hassle of converting to manual windows. I wouldn't have a problem removing the stock subwoofers & amplifiers either.
Just looking for some direction here, help a Mod out!

RE: Has anyone scaled their back seats?
Get ride of all the A/C stuff, that will save a ton of weight, my guess would be about 50+lbs. I bet your back seats will only save about 20lbs, but if you have power fronts they will be about 40lbs each. Kirkey makes a very nice aluminum race seat that is padded nicely and is very comfortable. You could always get a light weight pin on hood, and a tubular K member. Also your factory carpet is very heavy it is backed with rubber, you get new carpet kits for about $100 that do not have the rubber backing and weigh about 20lbs less. If I think of more I 'll let you know.

Thanks for that.
I think I could live without the AC, even in the nasty humid North East!!
I still plan on driving it on the street, wouldn't a tubular K-member be put under a lot of stress if I decide to throw her into a corner hard??

On many cars that have plastic skins covering the bumpers, you can save lots of weight by removing the bumpers underneath and just have the skins in place. Some applications you might need to fab up a lightweight bracket to hold the skin properly, but the end result is a lot of saved weight.
Just don't hit anything with the car afterwards!

also get some aluminum control arms. j/k
i would definatly get rid of all the a/c crap in the car and then also get a new fiberglass hood or something. and also the tubular K-member, that K-member saves like 40 lbs ive heard.... and it makes it easier to work on the car with LT's in it.
