Default Billet Aluminum window buttons

I bought a set of Billet aluminum window and door lock buttons (to replace the factory black plastic buttons) for my convertible. They mount on the little plastic posts when you remove the factory buttons). They really dress up the interior, but the buttons won't stay in place, they keep popping off and I'm afraid I might loose one. Can anyone suggest some type of adhesive I could use to securely fasten them on, but something that would still allow me to remove the Billet buttons if I ever have to replace the actual window switch mechanism?

Default RE: Billet Aluminum window buttons

Hey 97,

I had the same issue with mine when I first got them. The best thing I could suggest is to grind down the top-center of the clip that connects it. That should be able to hold them down and keep them from falling off. I wouldn't suggest adhesive unless it's a dire emergency because of the possibility of it leaking into the switch itself and keeping you from doing whatever function it is you need to do (top down, side mirrors, windows, you know). Hope this helps.
