Modification Opportunity
Greetings fellow Mustang enthusiasts. I recently traded in my '05 Mustang Premium Coupe (V-6) for an '05 Premium GT, and I am gald I did. No disrespect to the V-6 mind you, it got nearly 32mpg on the interstate. But I am really enjoying the power and the exchaust tone of the GT. Especially after I installed the Pypes Violator axle-back exhaust. I haven't done much since then except adding sequential taillights, and a few other cosmetic alterations.
Well now I have an opportunity to modify the the front-end of my beloved GT, because yesterday morning I played tag with a deer [:@]. The deer lost, but the 'Stang got a black eye. I haven't been to a body shop yet, but I think the hood, front bumper cover, left head-light and left-front fender will all need to be replaced. The insurance company will most likely pick up the tab for OEM parts. What I am thinking, is to pay the difference for an after-market front fascia and hood. I really like the look of the Rousch fascia and I think I will probably get that, because I can use my origial grill and such. The hood is what I'm not too sure about. Nearly all of the after-market hoods I have found on the web seem to be fiberglass or carbon fiber. Several people I've talked to tell me a fiberglass hood will be "wavey" in appearance and may not have the durability I will need in a car thatI drive everyday, to and from work. Also, living in N.Dakota, it will be prone to cracking during the winter months. So what I'd like to find is a metal hood, either steel or aluminum, that isn't just a take-off.So far I haven't come across any on the internet.
Anyway, suggestions, options, etc are welcomed. I want to get my GT back to an eye-catching ride because of the looks and not because of the battle scares

yeah, im not too sure about the 05+ cars, but all the mustangs from 94-04 come from the factory with a fiberglass hood. i have never seen anything wrong with mine, as long as the hood is prepped properly then you should be fine. when it comes to bumpers and stuff then i would stray away from fiberglass and stick to urethane though. urethane flexes alot more than fiberglass. if you bump into a curb with fiberglass, your bumper will crack, with urethane it will just have a little scuff.
