i have a 302 with a carb .MSD blaster 2,MSD 6AL box,and MSD billet dist. we have norrowed it down between the box or the coil
when the car gets hot it just shuts off with no warning after it sits and cools off it fires right up all though it runs rough then clears up if i wate till the next days it starts right up and runs smooth till it gets hott again...i also have a new battery that is no almost dead(maybe for trying to start it so much it went dead not sure).

 

is your MSD box oveheating? maybe thats your problem[sm=signs003.gif]

 

I had the same problem but it was just on a stock 5.0and it turned out just to be vapourlock.

Did you check your belt for the Alternator?

Thecar may be running off the battery untilthe batterydies (due to the alternator not been able to recharge the battery quick enough under the demand of the accessories ect), then the car shutting off.

There is a guy in my Electrical classwhos Mazda Gallante was doing that. He thought it was ECT related ect ect, turned out his tensioner on his serpintine belt was not holding enough tension as the tensioning spring was worn.

Just food for thought.

 

well i think, some engines have that problem of shuttin down when it turns too heat in the engine...

 

i let it run untill it shut off today i have juice going to themsd from the battery but nothing coming from the box to the coil guess the msd box is bad
