Need some opinions!
First of all, hey, i'm new![&:]
Anyway, I've been wanting to buy a Mustang for quite some time now, and in the near future, i'm going to have the opportunity. Though, I don't know which way to go. My two options are pretty much as follows
1 - (this car is actually at a local dealer up the street)
1994 Mustang GT with roughly 88k miles, mach460, all that good stuff for about $4,500.
or
2 - 99+ Mustang V6 with somewhere above 100k miles... for roughly $7,000? i'm just estimating
My dilemma is which is better to buy? I want something fast and with a huge aftermarket, though I know that both of these cars have one. I just know no one around here will take a 6er seriously. And saving longer isn't really an option, considering in that time i won't have a vehicle for school/work. The GT is actually in the area and hell, it's a 5.0. Though, the V6 is just newer, but with more miles however, and I like the styling on the 99+s.
Sorry if this is really random rambling, but i'm trying to make a decision so i won't be all hesitant when the time comes, and have the GT be bought out from under me or something when i make the decision.
PS! - Good to be part of this forum! i've read around for a while now and i'll hopefully be able to be one of the proud pony owners

I'm in the theory of get the bigger engine, you'll be happy you did. A 99+ v6 now will only leave you wanting a v8. Get a cheaper 5.0 with a good body and mod the engine with the money you save. Who knows, in a few years you can get a newer one.
Yeah, that's the response I was kinda hoping for, haha. And yeah, the theory of using leftover money for mods only sweetens the deal. I'd probably wind up turning her into a Cobra clone.
Thanks, hopefully i'll have her soon!

4,500$ from a dealer is not that bad for a 94GT. Im sure you can talk them down a bit more. Check it real good b4 you buy it. Alittle oil leak could be called normal for a nearly 12 year old car but make sure its running righ and the trans is shifting good ect. If you dont know alot about cars and mustangs have it check out. Nothing worse than buying a car that needs alot of work. Good luck and have fun.
Maybe all the V6'ers really want a V8 for power but NOT for the insurance premiums. Big difference especially if you are under 25. Not everyone can afford those stiff premiums. Besides, more and more specialty parts stores are carrying wild bolt-ons for V6 Mustangs. The best V6 for the buck has to be the new '05's. Their HP lists the same as a '94-'97 GT V8! Hugh bang for the buck without the insurance boogie man getting you. And cheap for a brand new car!
