cold air intake, easy 1 hour project

thats the only thing thats just straight up easy to install on your own
you could go further and get given common upgrades but would
have to get a pro to do that

To get about the same gains with NO outlay of cash you can modify your existing intake.
Start by trimming the air silencer. It's the rubber tube-like thing on the side of the airbox.Cut it so the opening is larger than the T/B opening with the top being left longer than the bottom and the front longer than the rear. The only reason for this is to keep loose dirt from being able to jump in by gravity.
The MAF screen can come out next.Just remove this screen and replace the O-ring and put it back together. This mod leans the mix out just a little and I understand that's pretty much what a bigger MAF does anyway.
Both of these are totally free and will give a lift in fuel aconomy of about one mpg.
A high flow air filter round out the combination but adds about $50 to the bundle.

The windshield wiper mod is one I like too.
Just remove the wiper arms and set them one notch lower on the shafts. This gives a cleaner appearance to the car.(I think)
