Hood Insulation???

Does anyone know what the purpose of hood insulation is? Im looking to take it off my mustang but done want to do anything I will regret.

It's there to quiet down engine noise, and helps reduce condensation dew. I've heard it might also be there to reduce engine heat transfer to the hoods paint, which "might" cause the paint to discolor

It is easy to remove, and the "push in" clips also make it easier to re-install when you decide that the hood looks better and is more quietwith it!!
