Default Broken e-brake cable, need advice

I've got a '98 and the other day the part of the parking brake cable that comes through the floor to the handle broke. Part stores don't carry it and I'm pretty sure you can't replace just the cable since the ends don't fit through the bracket where it connects to the rear cables. Is this something I can get at a junkyard? Anybody ever had to deal with it? I have a manual so this is a pretty important part.

had to replace the cableon my 90. got it from ford. this piece came with the kit i bought. don't know if you can buy it as a stand alone, but a ford parts man will.
one from a junkyard should work just as well as there is not usually too much strain on them. you must have in a hurry to stop. i'm guessing sex or had to pee.
