I have to remove the center console in 01 and don't know how. Please any input will

Well if it's the same as my 2000 stang, then lift the piece up for the center console compartment. After lifting it up there should be some rubber pieces in the 4 corners, lift them out with a flat head screw driver (being carefull not to scratch the plastic). After removing them, there should be screws or hex screws in the 4 corners, remove those. After rememoving those 4 bolts the plastic tray should remove. After removing the tray there should be two hex screws in the bottom, remove those. After removing those, not sure if you have an automatic, or manual. But mine is an automatic and there is a plastic piece that hooks to the center console around the shifter. I can't remember if it's the same for the manual but if so remove that piece. After removing it you should see where there are two screws connecting the center console to the dashboard/radio area. Remove those two screws and the center console should come out with a bit of help. Hope this helps you, it should be simular in the 2000 and 2001. Goodluck Let me know if this helps you at all...
