Default Roll Cage 101

Ive been thinking about one and how they can save your life. I was in a very bad wreck once so i have some fears.

-How many diffent kinds of cages

-Whats types of steel

-Price

-What interior mods need to be done.

Be carefull with a cage in a street car, in a wreck without a helmet and a proper 5 point harness a cage can cause more damage to you than it saves. They are made to be used as part of a saftey system and without the other parts of the system they are useless, unless you plan on putting on a helmet and 5 point everytime you get in the car.

Do you guys have pics on how you have your harness installed? Im sure there is an optimum way to bolt them in but my harness bar has no pre drilled holes. Any advice appreciated.

Ya if you find a pic please post it. My seats and harness wont be in until wed or thursday so no hurry. I was planning on installing on the roll bar behind the seat. Just allways like to see it first since I have never put one in. They are kinda important to install correctly I would think. Sorry SXGT not trying to hijack your post BTW.

right now im actually puttin a roll cage in my 66. All i gotta say is get ready to really alter the interior if you want a big cage. ther is no back seat for one which isnt that big of a deal. But i had to cut the entire trunk out for 2 stabilizer bars. Well actually, everything from the former back seat back rest is pretty much gone. We also put in a fuel cell for added saftey. The full cage with new suspension and fuel cell was around 2k if i remember right.
