Default Throttle Body

Question for someone with knowledge. I have a 2005 mustang gt. At idle the engine stalls or anytime I press the clutch when changing gears if I let the rpms dropp to about 1 it stalls. Autozone did a diganostic check and it read not getting enough air or air temp. They suggedted I change the a sir flow snesor. Took it to ford and they said that the throtlle control valve was bad and i need to have the throttle body replaced. Is the valve and the throttle body incorparated into one piece becasue they are talking about a 500 dollar bill. Can anyone give me some advice on this?

i just had the same problem.....i am currently waiting by the door for the ups man to drop off a new throttle position sensor....my car finnally threw codes...7 of em and thats the problem...get a digital voltmeter and read the yellow wire on the tps while the car is on but not running..should be about .98 volts at idle...not too much higher...then read the voltmeter as you step on the gas pedal slowly until wot...it should read a smooth continuous level until about 4.8 volts....if it skips at a certain point and gets a crazy reading then you need to replace your tps...if your level at idle and wot dont look like these then you also need to replace it...

So is there any reason why you think it could be the throttle body itself because Im getting ready to have to pay 530 for this at the ford dealer

Soneyman:

You can get a great after market Throttle Body (Brand New, Steeda I Think) for $268.00. There is nothing to installation. No way I would pay Ford their over the top labor prices!

I did not say "TPS" I said "Plenum"
Looks like you got things all sorted out though...which is what you want.
