what tools can i use
Is therea stud left or is it clean off the block? If it's clean off the block you can get a screw extractor from lowes, homedepot, or any other hardware or automotive store. You driss a smaller hole diamiter than the screw that they provide to you with the kit than use the tool to unscrew it. If its still sticking out a good ditance than grind a small flat spot and use a good set of quality visegrips. Also before you do either of those make sure you soak the bolts with PB blaster for at least 15 to 30 min before you try to remove them.
Thats basicaly what I did years ago to my Bros bronco cause hte water pumped blew on it. that was about 15 years ago.....what sucked was we had to go all over creation to get the one that snaped off. I feel your pain. That is why I said to use lots of PB. If it don't budge spray some more and come back in anotehr 15 min.
I am in the same boat I found a broken bolt that a previous owner jsut put back in with a bunch or silicone on a buddied car . It the bolt on the D/s that is in between the 2 for the ac braket . It was snapped off with only 3 treads left on the bolt I didnt take the timeing cover off yet but with how much thread was left on the broken bolt . Would you say there is good chance it might have some left stickin out that I could put a pair of vise grips on. Or does the bolt use all the thread on it to tighten it and looks like I might have to drill and tap it .
Sorry to hijack the thread u started Its been a headach all weekend with me with this same problem

yeah but what I was wondering is how much bolt would be sticking outa the block if the bolt snapped off at the third threadgoing away from the shoulder or "unthreaded" part of the bolt ??? Dose the bolt have a decent amount of thread left sticking out past the block after its tight or is the shoulder of the bolt the only thing that sticks out when the bolt it tight on the pump
