I was wondering if the GT hoods for the 1999 mustangs have a square hole for the intake.
is it just for look?
and how can you imply it on a v6?

The scoop on the top isn't functional. It's a screwed on plastic part for looks only.

You can buy just the scoop and add it to your V6, or you can buy an entire hood used and put it on. Either way works.

considering you get minimal gains, I'd say the its not worth it.

I have seen a custom one right over the stock airbox. I'm not sure what it looked like under the hood though.
