02 extentions?

02 extentions?
Im buying an O/R X pipe and im not sure if i need the 02 extentions. I know for sure that the 2004 GT which i have needs them because of the rear sensors. My question is, If i turn off the rear 02 sensors with my xcal3, do i still need to buy the extentions and why?
