Default 2000 wheel bearing help

is there a special tool required to take the nut off the hub on a front wheel bearing for a 2000 v6 vert? My dads wheel bearing is about done and he went to change it and said you'd have to get some special tool because its not a hex nut or anything. I don't really know what he's talking about i'm looking at it tomorrow just wondered if theres a ford part i would need to change it. Thanks for your help everyone.

I did mine 8 months back. The "tool" you need is a huge effin socket with a huge wrench to mate it to. Sorry I can't remember the exact size but 36mm comes to mind. Buy 33-38 mm and return the ones that don't fit. I also remember I had to buy a huge 3/4" drive wrench for like $45. My parts store may lend me the wrench for free.
