I have a Mach and i wouldn't even think about trading it for a new GT. I might only have 5 mor horses but i got a better engine IMO i prefer 32V to 24V.

go with the mach 1. definitly. on ebay you can but a used eaton blower off a stock 03 for like $600 and thats an easy swap. that would easily kill an 05. plus the 05 i beileve in a drive by wire set up where the throttle is eletronically controlled so its not so snappy.....i may be wrong. but in either case go with the mach 1.

I don't know about the Mach being way faster. What was its published 0-60 times. Recently Road & Track retested a production '05 GT and got a 0-60 time of 4.9........stock! True about the 24V versus the 32V but the overall sophistication of the new '05 24V is much higher and newer tech all the way around. I'll bet it is also much cheaper to repair if something should go bump in the night. No doubt the Mach 1 is a great car. So is the '03/'04 Cobra with the blower. Take your pick....Mach 1.....Cobra.....'05 GT, I see it as a "no lose" situation.

You know how many people have done that here and found out it ain't cake and ice cream to put a take-off Eaton blower on?

I second that, Dan02GT. Blowers ain't a cake walk as they say. Nothing is THAT easy with major changes to your engine's configuration.

Mach 1, faster, cheaper, rarer. 05 GT's are nice and all but with markup are horribly overpriced.

I think the 05 is also a bit heavier
32v > 24v
Both good arguments.

overall sophistication of the new '05 24V is much higher and newer tech all the way around. I'll bet it is also much cheaper to repair if something should go bump in the night.
Yeah, that makes sense You do realize more technology means it's HARDER for the average joe to fix it, right? A socket set and a screwdriver used to be all you needed to work on cars. Now, not so much. If something does go wrong it's going to be MUCH more expensive on the newer cars. Part of it is just b/c they're new.
