Default Power Window Problem

i've done a search, but havent found anything that helped.

i have a 94 5.0 and the power windows don't work. and the power locks don't work. when i push the switch (drivers or passengers) they make a low washing machine type noise. but they don't go down or up...

could this be a relay problem?

could be a issue with the Drivers side switches for the windows and locks.

I get the same problem with the passenger side switch as well.. it's an intermittent pulsing sound... almost like a washing machine sound as it goes into the spin cycle... (best way i can describe it.) i would think if the motors were bad.. they'd either go down slowly, or not work at all..

well its not the switch because you would hear nothing if the switch and relay wernt working i would check the wireing to the motor as well as the connectors your prbably not getting enough voltage to the motor or have high resistance in the circuit somewhere. wiring diagrams are a big help with electrical problems

corosion in the switches are a good source of resistance and on the SN95 stangs if you dont have the windows up when its raining the the water will drip right into the switches. I had to replace mine a while ago cause the locks had that kind of issue where the motor locks werent locking instantly. not to mention they are cheap to replace vs a motor.
