synthetic oil. I hear it makes your engine last longer than it would with the other oil and frees up a little rwhp.

i would run synthetic but if the car has been run on conventinal for a long time run it on conventinal, alot of the conventinal now is just as good as the synthetic though, you will get ppl who love synthetic and tell you to use nothing else then you will get the ppl who love conventinal and tell you different, but synthetic releases heat better as well as lubricate components better, like i said if its been run on conventinal for a long time and you dont feel like cleaning the engine out just run it on that

Synthetic is better but it comes at a large cost.

If your car has alot of miles on it (Say around 75,000miles), then you should probably stick with conventional. High mileage engines should not be shocked into using synthetic.

Also, are you sure about what oil the previous owners used? I'd check that first.

semi-synthetic a waste of money...most oil's only have about 15% synthetic added to the blend...

I'd use Mobil 1 Syn. oil with the K & N filter ...

I switched my Probe over to full synthetic at around 100k miles and it's never run better.

You will never notice a difference. Run whatever you feel comfortable with. I've tried it all over the years, and I have no evidence that running any particular type of oil has ever led to the downfall of any of the 20+ cars I've owned.

I remember reading an article awhile back I ll see if I can dig it up about the factory oil filter being the best one on the market. So I would recommend Mobil 1 (5w-20 is what the mach takes) and the factory filter
