1999 Cobra performance questions
I have done some research and I have seen there isnt much difference between the 99 cobra and the 99 gt. Edmunds.com says The 1999 Cobra says it has 320 HP 32 valve and 0-60 is 5.5. The 1999 GT says it has 260 HP 16 valve. But its 0-60 is also 5.5. Is this true? I sold my 99 GT and it didnt seem nowhere near 5.5 secs and was goin to upgrade to a 99 Cobra but now I dont know if its worth it or not. Can someone please tell me if its enough faster to get it or not. Also is there much difference between the 99 cobra and 01 cobra. i know the 01 cobra has the tremec 3650 trans in it so is there a big diff in between these 2 cobras. Please let me know what you think to both questions.

Theres alot of differences be tween the GT and cobra... yes the cobra is 4v/per cylinder (32v) which is a big diffrenct to the GT 2 valve, and the cobra is also DOHC ( 4 cams 2 in each head) as opposed to the single cam in each of the GTs heads (2 total) The intake is much different on the cobra and the block is Teksid, a company in italy who made blocks for ferarri it is the strongest and lightest block made in any 4.6 mustang. Another BIG difference is the 99 cobra has IRS (independent Rear Suspension) as opposed to the GTs Solid Rear Axel. The cobra is far superior in the twisties, and can be equal to the SRA with a little beefing up. Also the Cobra looks cooler oh yeah also the cobras has C heads which are great for N/A applications. The IRS may be the reason for similar 0-60 times but 4vs pull much harder up top and respond better to mods.
Cobra> GT.
