Default The fan is not working on my....Cavalier? Help

Obviously it's not Mustang related, but I figured one of you guys might know. I have a 1995 Chevy POS...errr I mean Cavalier 2.2L. I replaced the temperature sending sensor, the fan relay and thermostat. I have tested the fan/fan motor and it works just fine. Water pump is fine as well. Also, the temperature gauge seems to be working ok. When the car sits..it doesn't over heat, but goes about 3/4 of the way up in the "operating range" zone. That's a little too hot for my liking for the fan to not kick on. So my question is...wtf is the problem? Also...my "Check oil" light is on. Would that be for low oil pressure or do you think the "oil level" sensor is bad? (yes the car has one of those) The oil is not low either, i've checked. Thanks in advance.

Check oil light means the oil level is low but if the oil is indeed full it could be a bad sensor. Youre not checking the oil level on a hill are you? Not sure about the fan. Bad fuse?

Checked it on flat ground after he had sat for hours/over night, etc. I can't figure out the damn fan for the life of me though..it's not a fuse either =\

As with most things, fans do have lifespans., could just be junk. Pull it out and hotwire it directly to the car battery and it should turn on, if not, the fans done, if it kicks on, you have something between.

Sounds like you have an electrical bug, my girls old Taurus had one of those, the check engine light, coolant light stayed on, the dome light worked when it felt like it, and I directly wired the fan to a switch I added myself inside the car. Until she crashed it X-D

Well, for the fan you neeed to sit and trace it. It's easiest from the fan end...and with a sckematic but, check for power at the fan which I'm guessing it don't have. Then, go to the relay. I believe that 2 wires should be "hot" there. (one will go to fan but, not one of the hot ones) Gound the 4rth one (with a jumper) and see if the fan then has power. Then....

1- if you don't have power on 2 wires, trace the one that doesn't to find out why.

2-if you have power on 2 and grounding it makes the fan work, trace the wire to the sender for a break.

3-can't think of 3....try that and see what you get.

Did that...fan works just fine. I replaced the fan relay, thermostat, temperature sensor/sending unit and the cooling fan fuse....
