taillight stays on

hello guys. ive had my car for about 3 years with no problem till now. i have a 2000 ford mustang v6. everything was working fine yesterday but this morning i noticed that the taillight light was on and it drained my battery. please help

Is it the running light that's on or the brakelight? Sounds like a stuck switch
