Default clutch problem

i just bought a 93 hatch gt and it has a new spec stage 1 clutch and flywheel in it. it is hard as hell to push in as it is but now i can't hardly get it in gear or shift otherwise. it also has a new cable. anyone have any ideas what could be wrong or where i should start? thnx

Replace the cable. Old, dry or frayed cables will not move freely.

If that doesn't cure it. Most likely the high pedal effort is just a result of a strong base pressure coming from your high performance clutch.

How much power are you making and what are you using for a rear tire?

Not really sure what the hard shifting has to do with the clutch...maybe I misread it?

The increased force would surely be from the pressure from the upgraded clutch, but whether or not it is hard to "push" shouldnt change whether or not it engages. you say you cant hardly get it in gear. Is that because the clutch isnt engaging or disengaging until the very bottom or top of the pedal travel? Or is it really a problem with getting the car into an actual gear?
