Running Straight Pipes for a 2000 Mustang v6?
Hey guys, I was just wondering if my mustang would sound better if i put straight pipe(one coming straight form the muffler.)
BTW is there any disadvantages in putting this? like reduced horsepower or something or low gas mileage?
Would it sound the same if i had straight pipes or the regular stock mustang way?
Does straight piping mean to take the catalyc converter or sumthing..I don't really know..somebody help me out pls
about how much would it cost me for the pipe??
BTW i have flowmaster 40's on mine...
Thanks...

I am slightly confused on your setup. Are you asking to run a pipe from the muffler to the tail? Are you trying to eliminate the stock catted Y-Pipe and replace it w/an aftermarket one, or are you wanting to delete the Flowmaster muffler and in its place run a straight pipe? If you want to delete the muffler, I personally would not. Your exhaust note would sound awful. It would just be loud and RICEY. You could get rid of your stock Y-Pipe and get a shop to fabricate a custom one. Although that would get pricey.
