Default Tuners?

I have a 2005 Mustang V6 with an CAI and FRPP Exhaust

I was wondering if I should now get a tuner?

but I have some questions before considering it:

1. Which is the best one for a 05 v6 mustang?

2. Do I need to take it to a shop to install it?

3. Can I really get a gain of 50HP??

thanks!

lol. No you cannot get a gain of 50hp out of a handheld tuner for a v6 mustang. Usually tuners and used to reprogram your car for things such as fixing your speedo after gear change, lowering revlimiter (or raising) some do some small tuning, but never as good as you would get from a reputable dyno tuner.

Get an XCal. You wont get 50 Horsepower but you will get some. Its pointless to have a CAI without a Tuner. Load some Bamatunes or something like that for it!

**** so the CAI I have in their now isn't doing anything? Because I was told that it would work without a tuner

Thats the one I bought.

I notice a different in power and sound.

So where do I get an Xcal? And are their any performance chips I can install?

Its doing something, but not much. IMO you probably should have bought a CAI that needs a tune and got a tuner. With that one you have your probably getting like 5-7 horsepower.

There is a guy on these forums (PM me and I can try to find the info for you) that has a CAI+Tuner for sale for $225 shipped. I would buy it in a heartbeat but I dont have the extra $$cash$$ now.

It's an XCal Tuner so you'd be getting an XCal Tuner for SUPER CHEAP and pretty much a Free CAI. With that setup I think you can get a lot more horsepower out of it. CAI+Tuner=Cheapest way to gain Horsepower, and for $225 thats a steal.
