Tranny is in god damn it took long enough, took me like 4 hours to put everything back in place but I think it was worth it because it runs great now thanks for the help guys.

 

ford recomends mercon ATF, i used synthetic in mine royal purple mercon atf like $4 a quart tho

 

Yeah I just used Cheveron Mercon its works great as of right now we will see down the road.

 

sorry but i believe you are wrong, my mechanic who has build numerous drag cars and has raced cars himself and has been in a few car magazines recommened gear oil from redline, and i know he wouldnt steer me wrong and so far i havent had one problem using the redline stuff

 

Yeah I went to the ford dealership and to a transmission shop and they all told me for these T-5s they would recommend putting ATF fluid. The redline is prolly great but I rather listen to what everyone else says, There all pros so I trust there judgment.

 

you can put gear oil in them, its just not recomended, the bearings and synchros will wear much faster then normal, so i heard

 

its worth the money trust me on that bc i had the refular stuff in my car and its thick until it gets warmed up and it sucks trying to shift with thick oil. the amsoil syntheic atf is awesome stuff and thats all i will ever usein my tranny. the oil never gets thick and shifts great
