Default Oil on crankshaft pulley?

I just got my Steeda pulleys installed today and I noticed a little oil on the inside lip on the crankshaft pulley[&:] I don't know what's going on here.....i guess it's leaking. I'm not sure why, but I want to take it back to the shop and ask them tomorrow. Any advice about what's going on here.[sm=feedback.gif]

It's probably leaking out through the keyway. When installing pulleys you must use RTV in the keyway or they WILL leak.

It could also be the front oil seal as well if they weren't careful to clean any dirt during the install. The dirt would ruin the seal. I replaced my seal when I did my pulleys since I don't like doing things twice...the seal was only a couple bucks.

Also, if they drove the install bolt in too far, they coulda seriously screwed something up, puncturing something. I sure hope they used your stock crank bolt and didn't use the install bolt like idiots.

I think its the seal. I'm not sure if they used any silicone or not....i really hope so. Either way I'm taking it in tomorrow to have them put a new seal on. I will mention to them about the silicone though[>:]
