Removing Door ding Strips

Removing Door ding Strips
So I still haven't got around to removing them. I hear its a breeze with just dental floss/fishing line. However I've heard to do it in the hot weather from some people, while others say to do it in the cold...
Well I live in MN and it was -30 degrees (with wind chill) a couple days ago.
Should I take them off in this cold weather or not? If I do take them off in it will I risk taking off some paint with it?? Thats the LAST thing I want to happen. Will paint come off with them????
Also if I get them off, and get all the glue off then what? Do I wax the area where the strips were? Would Turtle Wax do just fine? Or should I have the whole car waxed? I cannot wax the car in this weather so if thats the case then its not happening. I can wax a couple little strips but not the whole thing.
So what should I do?

Are you talking about the vinyl strip along the bottom of the door that says mustang? If so, the best thing I've heard is to use a hair dryer and then use Goo Gone (I have used lighter fluid on other items with glue residue...just an idea) to remove the residue. Hopefully the paint still matches (your stang is pretty new..it should). Good Luck!
