In these hard times, I am trying to save a buck by doing the work myself. With that, I decided to replace my heater core instead of paying the $1200 for the shop to do it. All was well with my 97 Mustang GT except for the heater core. I removed the dash and replaced the core. Put it all back together and now my airbag flashes error code 41 (RH side open circuit) and my alternator is not charging. I took the alternator to have it tested and it checked fine. I put it back in the car thinking it might have been a loose regulator plug, but it is still not charging. I checked all of the quick connects and all seem to be together. I am at a loss. Please help. What should I check now??

 

Check your fuses underneath the driver's side dash. If you are for sure that you have everything connected, then that's a good place to start.

 

Just checked under the dash and, for good measure, the fuses under the hood. All checked out to be good.

 

did you ever figure out what the problem was? i am having the same exact problem as of right now everything is showing good but i cant get it to charge, and i also just replaced my heater core... let me know if you figured it out... maybe you could email me
