I am debating on which car to get within the next year. I love the way the '03 cobra looks and its amazing power, but i also like the way that the '05 mustangs(GT) are going back to the classic look. Which would ya'll rather choose? I believe the Cobras are still faster in the 1/4 mile and with very minimal mods they can easily run 11's. Thats the only reason id take a Cobra over a new '05. Whats your take on this? Cobra or '05 Stang. Both very beautiful cars.</P>

I'd choose the '03 Cobra personally. I really don't like the '05 body style at all. The rear looks decent, but to me the rest is just ugly. <IMG src=smileys/smiley11.gif border="0">

 

Fox Bodys dont do it for me. Fast but they dont look good at all. I would really like to wait for an '05 cobra, but it just seems to long to wait, plus they'll be between 35-40k. If i do get an 03 cobra, im looking for a used one. By 2004 it will be a year old, so it probably will go down to about 26k, something i can afford.

 

I'd wait to see exactly what the 05's will look like and whats going to go wrong. The stance andthe 18's will change the look, plus the addition of the rear seats. The '03 Cobra, even in all its glory as the 'best produced to date'or whatever looks too subtle (I think it the spoiler that does it)even compared to a GT.I'd wait too see, but I've never beenpartialto the 99+ cars. Then again I'd never buy brand new, waste of money IMO. my 0.02</P>

 

you know, ifthe money's tight and you like the 99-04 body style, then pick up a 99 or 00 GT and slap a blower + some suspension mods on it and you'll be pretty close to cobra performance levels for quite a bit less $$. Unless of course you want the actual Cobra, in that case get one.</P>


piston brings up a good point about new models and problems they might have. it usually takes a manufacturer a couple of years to get all the bugs out of a new design.</P>

 

Get the 03, intelligent lines that promote the heart of american muscle, and the 6 speed, wow. go drive one.

yeah my friend has one, and its amazing. Thats why i would love to own one. The '05 stangs have been rumored to have 300hp as compared to the '03 cobra with 390. There really isnt no comparison there. But i may be willing to give up 90hp for the look of the '05 stang. So i guess only time will tell what the '05's will look like.
