Longtube Headers
-More HP/TQ
-PITA to install(K-member specifically)

Shorty Headers
-Not much power gain
-Slightly easier to install

In a nutshell

Minor disadavantage that's rarely mentioned. Long tubes do not last as long on daily driven (winter) cars/trucks. Shorties will last the life of the car.

Long tubes also force you to make some catalytic convertor decisions.

Definately a torque advantage.

Ha, someone had to be the smart ***

Power can be had with both styles, dont let people tell you shorties do nothing, because that would be a lie. Basically the real difference is in the HP/TQ curve, and where the power is made. LTs tend to increase peak, while shorties can inprove bottom end torque..LTs are usually the way to go, but make starter/trans removal a nightmare, they tend to leak, and hit on everything.

thanks guys, the reason i ask, is because i have an exhaust leak around my headers, and i was just gonna replace the headers and/or midpipe, but since this is my DD, i think i'm just gonna stick with the shorties
