01 Cobra or 03 mach1 are both good choices. the Mach is probably a little quicker with the 3.55 gear and lighter solid rear axle. Really depends what you want, the 01 Cobra has stock 31 spline rear axles, both have special seats and gauges. It really all depends on what you personally want.

Default Thanks everybody

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I will most likely keep saving cash until I run across that rare mach, or wait until the anniversary & Ford drops some kinda bomb (new design, new engine, etc) to bring the prices down on all the older models.

Anyone have any idea how many '03 machs are out there or what a reasonable asking prices is?

Default Budget Buy & Build

Well, I can come up with the $3-4k to get a car, but it won't be my DD. I will most likely be able to put $100-$300/month into it depending on unexpected expenses (kids tend to cause those all the time for you non-parents out there).

At this point, i would more than likely try to get base mods in to make her breathe a little easier (CAI, exhaust, ram air) as well as make any necessary repairs before having any kind of real fun (forged insides, etc)...

Any ideas? I always wanted a mach, but they might be out of my price range. I haven't seen one for less than $10k lately...GT's are out there, but how much do you lose in potential between a 2V & 4V since i don't have the $ for a blower?

Uhh what do you mean you want a CAI and ram air.

You sound like you have a wine taste on a beer pocketbook, you're not going to find a mach 1 for under 10k.

You may find a 99 Cobra for around 10k, or just under if it has 80k or something, g/l with that

if your absolute max budget is 10k, the mach and cobra might not be the best choice.

they tend to lean towards the beaten side for that price. i havent found a good mach 1 in my area for under 13k or a good n/a cobra for under 11k.

your sights might be just a bit too high. especially with only 3k as a down payment.

have you considered any new edge GTs?

I gotta agree with these guys, 10 grand does not buy you a nice Cobra or Mach that new.
